General Description

The Placentia Building (formerly a utility storage and warehouse) was constructed in 1943 on Argentia Harbour. This 52,000 sq. ft./4,386 m2 structure originally contained the workshops and support facilities for the maintenance of U.S. Navy vessels. This facility is located at dockside on the isthmus to the North Side peninsula.

This building is owned by Metal World Inc. and is being used as a metal fabrication facility.

The building is located on a wharf of approximately 300 m in length, with a paved apron of about 150 ft./45 m in front of the building.
